Lilypond

Yay! Lilypond works! I tried installing it a while ago, but there was something wrong and it didn’t work properly. Then last week the Arch texinfo package was updated, and it didn’t work at all. Today, however, a new lilypond package appeared in the repository, and now it all works just fine. Hurrah! Whether the problem was fixed by the new texinfo package, or the rebuilt lilypond package, I don’t know. But either way, my one major reservation about Arch Linux (that I couldn’t get Lilypond working) has gone away. Speaking of which, I finally deleted my Slackware partition the week before last, so now Arch is the only distro I have installed.

For those that don’t know, Lilypond is a marvellous Free music notation program. I had been using it to notate all of the tunes for Duck’ morris, but I got about a third of the way through and stalled. Now I’ve got it working again, perhaps I will get around to finishing the job.

Not until after these exams, though!
