Dear me. It’s been weeks since I posted anything here. Time to catch up.
My search for a house in Southampton has actually got moving (or rather, I’ve actually got moving towards finding one). I’ll be going down there tomorrow to have a look at a couple of places. Hopefully one will be suitable, and I’ll be able to move in next weekend.
I attended Wallingford Bunkfest with Duck’ Morris, which was rather disappointing in that, unlike last year, our performers’ passes didn’t get us into any concerts (only ceilidhs). On the other hand, we had quite a pleasant day’s dancing on the Sunday, so it wasn’t all bad news.
To my great delight, my new leather tankard has arrived:

After the tragic loss of my old (pewter) tankard, I decided a replacement was in order. However, rather than get another pewter one, I decided that this time I would try leather. Initially, I tried looking for a shop in the area that would sell them, but to no avail. Eventually I gave up, and instead ordered one over t’Interweb from Hidebound. They have done a grand job; the tankard is most excellent.
Does that thing have some kind of lining? If not, doesn’t that affect the taste?
It’s lined with pitch to make it watertight. The first two or three drinks from it were tainted slightly, but that effect wore off very quickly.
