Tankard Repairs

Last Friday, to my dismay, I discovered that there was a crack in the pitch lining of the side of my tankard. I have this afternoon attempted to repair this by smoothing over the crack with a hot knife (as recommended in the booklet that came with it). I hope this will restore it to working order; I really don’t want to have to send it off to be re-piched. Either way, though, it puts it out of action for the Glen Eyre Beer Festival this evening.

In other news, Hastings was very cold this year, but otherwise good. And my new Gorkamorka mob is now painted and ready for action (which they probably won’t see until the Summer holidays) and has turned out rather well, I think.

  1. Phil says:

Bugger indeed about the tankard, although that it was always on the cards. You now have first hand experience of one of the big reasons leather tankards aren’t in general circulation; lack of reliability.

  2. True, true. But they do make up for it with awesomeness.
