It must be over two years at least since I first heard Norwegian band Gåte‘s first album, Jygri. At the time I tried to track down a copy for myself, but could find no trace of it within the UK. I have tried again once or twice since, but with no success until yesterday, when I was briefly reminded of my search, and finally came across Swedish mail-order website cdon.com who will ship to the UK. I also managed to get my hands on a few mp3s to download, which confirmed that the band were as good as I remembered, and so I have now ordered both of the band’s studio albums.
Hurray for the Internets! There’s no way I’d ever have been able to track these records down otherwise (at least, not without travelling to Norway or something equally drastic).
Well, that was quick. The CDs arrived this morning. I’ve only listened to Jygri so far, and it is most excellent.
