I’d known for a while that David Peoples was the man who co-wrote Blade Runner, having been brought in to replace Hampton Fancher after he and Ridley Scott were increasingly in disagreement over rewrites of the script. What I didn’t realise until today was that he also wrote Unforgiven and, with his wife Janet, Twelve Monkeys, both films I consider among my favourites (as is the aforementioned Blade Runner). Mr. Peoples has thus gone up considerably in my estimation.
The other thing I learned recently is that M. Emmet Walsh is not dead. For some reason, I was under the impression that he had died recently. While I am pleased to discover that this is not the case, it does leave me puzzled. Why on earth did I think M. Emmet Walsh was dead?
Yes, why on Earth did you think he was dead? There’s no news of him even being poorly.
Did any other noted character actors die within the last year or two? Perhaps I got them confused.
