I’ve been making good progress painting up my Epic Eldar. All I need to paint is nine Falcon Grav-tanks and I’ll have 4,000 points done. Unfortunately, however, my Falcons are still on back order from Forge World and may take another week or two to arrive yet. I’ll paint up a few other things in the meantime, then when they do arrive I’ll get to painting them. Then once they’re done I can take a whole-army shot and post some pics here. If you want pics in the meantime, you can always look at the EpiComms thread linked in my last post.
Meanwhile, I was quite pleased to see the the supplement Epic: Swordwind come up for auction on Ebay last week. This supplement was only available for a fairly short period before it went out of print, and while most of it is available for download as a PDF from GW’s website, there are a few (non-essential) painting and modelling articles in it that aren’t available anywhere else. There’s also the fact that a book is more portable than a PDF, and nicer to use than print-outs in a ring-binder. So I decided to bid on it and subsequently won, with the book arriving yesterday. This was actually the first time I’ve bid on anything on Ebay. I’ve bought a couple of things on there before, but always using the ‘buy it now’ option rather than bidding in a proper auction. I must admit I ended up spending a little more than I’d have liked, although it was nothing like the crazy money that some OOP game supplements go for.
Of course, I still won’t have hard copies of all the available Epic supplements until my copy of Epic: Raiders arrives. But that could be a while, as a few more people need to order copies before any more will be printed. So I’ll have to make do with the PDF for now.
