Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 90g chipotle paste
- 680g passata
- 150g brown sugar
- 225g black treacle
- 200ml malt vinegar
- 2tsp mustard powder
- 2tsp smoked paprika
- 2tsp cayenne pepper
- Fry the onion and garlic in a large saucepan until lightly browned.
- Add the other ingredients. Simmer gently, allowing the mixture to reduce and thicken.
- Blend with a hand blender until smooth.
